TRANSLATIONAL IMAGING New Unique Technology Accelerates Drug Development MPI Research has underscored its leadership in early-stage drug development by building a world-class Translational Imaging Center in Mattawan, Michigan. This unique resource can be used to accelerate the next generation of breakthrough therapeutics. The 10,000 square foot addition features a dedicated cyclotron that when placed in the hands of world-class synthetic chemists generates radioisotopically labeled drug candidates suitable for molecular imaging. These labeled drug candidates can be administered to animal models on-site to assess biodistribution, target engagement, and the kinetics of distribution. This information offers insights into selecting the best drug candidate and the potential to reduce the number of drug trials and test subjects, resulting in reduced costs and accelerated decisions for Sponsors.
